Frequently asked questions:

Are there other parties scheduled during my time slot?

Yes, we often host multiple events at once. Don’t worry, though—we schedule plenty of volunteer engineers so your guests will have little to no wait time for train rides!

How much train time do we get?

Your party includes two 45-minute blocks of train rides. We place a 45-minute intermission between them, which is the perfect time to head back to your picnic area for cake and food.

Note: This leaves 30 minutes at the beginning of your 3-hour block for decorating and welcoming guests, and 15 minutes at the end to pack up and say goodbyes.

Will the snack stand be open?

No, the snack stand is closed for private parties. It is only open during our scheduled public run days, so please remember to bring your own food and beverages!

Can we bring a BBQ?

Yes, you are welcome to bring a propane BBQ! Please note that charcoal BBQs are strictly prohibited.

Are alcoholic beverages allowed?

No. Alcohol and recreational drugs are NOT permitted on the park grounds at any time.

Where do we put our trash?

To help us keep our space clean, we operate on a “pack-it-in, pack-it-out” policy. Because we don’t have large-scale waste facilities on-site, please plan to take all event trash home with you. Bringing a couple of heavy-duty trash bags will make clean-up a breeze!

Can we bring our family pet?

We love animals, but pets are NOT permitted inside the park grounds. Please leave your furry friends at home for the day!

Can we bring decorations?

Yes! Tablecloths, flowers, and balloons are all welcome. We just ask that you use weights on all balloons—our neighbors have livestock, and loose balloons can drift into their fields and harm the animals. If your reservation includes the pavilion, feel free to hang a piñata or a party banner.

What happens if it rains?

Rain or shine, the trains keep rolling and the party goes on!

Can I bring a pop-up tent?

Yes, you are welcome to bring one! We just ask that you securely anchor it to the ground, so a gust of wind doesn’t send it flying into another party’s area.

Will restroom facilities be open?

Yes. Restrooms are located next to the train station, and an additional port-a-potty is available just inside the main entrance.
